This is a love story with a happy ending. A story about two sisters. Justine and Juliette.
Tired of reality and their boring lives, the sisters return to the land of their childhood. Between memories, bedtime stories and ambiguous games, they retrace their steps back to the early days of their relationship, and dream of a different reality that lies beyond the boundaries of Good and Evil.
Drawing on the magnum opus of the Marquis de Sade: ‘Justine, or The Misfortunes of Virtue’ and its sequel ‘Juliette, or Vice Amply Rewarded’, Emma Hütt's JUSTINE & JULIETTE attempts to explore the origins of pornographic traditions and examines the historical portrayal of femininity – filtering it through contemporary pop culture phenomena.
Exploring the limits of the shame of heterosexual fantasies, our heroines unravel the age-old mystery of one of the last great taboos in Western sexual history: How do we want to love?
