Kroki 2018 / House Beating
Hygin Delimat (Austria / Poland)
- Premiere: 10.10.2015
House Beating is a transmedial performative artwork evolved around themes of Contemporary Architecture. A collective of artists interprets Le Corbusier’s and Iannis Xennakis’ revolutionary concepts of performing space, and recontextualizes them in relation to newly emerged contemporary buildings: their surfaces, rooms, sensations. The piece particularly anticipates moments of emergence, creation, construction. The powerful dance includes a choreography of two male athletic dancers exploring borderline, architectural possibilities of their bodies, and a giant, organically morphing wooden structure, along the sound of deconstructed Xennakis’ and Cage’s compositions.

It consists of extraordinary dancers such as Łukasz Czapski, Marcin Denkiewicz, Elias Buttinger, as well as musicians Schayan Kazemi, Maria Anna-Chlebus, Alex Georgiev, Voland Szekely, Karol Kensee, visual artists, and researchers. The repertoire of works include an outdoor performance-installation "House Beating", a performance-exhibition "Architektur + Tanz", as well as the newly emerging dance work "Body Building".
